Victorian Veteran Cycling have run a Camperdown to Warrnambool race ahead of the main Melbourne to Warrnambool race since 1991 and this race, now in its 25th year, continues to be one of the prestige races of veteran cycling.
In the early years the event was run down the Princess Highway with sprints at Terang, Garvoc, Panmure, and the Pumping Station.
The winner of the first Camperdown to Warrnambool veterans race was Ron Jacobson from Southern vets and he also had fastest time from scratch.
Around 150 riders from all over Victoria participate and have the excitement of finishing under the main banners before watching the finish of the Melbourne to Warrnambool race.
